Boca Raton Coach Leads Mental Health, Identity, and Leadership Program at Local Chamber

BOCA RATON, Fla., May 2026 — As Mental Health Awareness Month shines a light on stress and burnout at work, Boca Raton Identity Coach Lynn Lessell will present From Pain to Power: Mental Health, Identity, and Leadership in the Workplace on May 21 from 3–5 p.m. at the  Boca Region Chamber of Commerce.

Recent workplace surveys show that more than half of U.S. workers report feeling burned out, and many still worry there may be consequences if they speak up about their mental health at work. The May 21 program is designed to help local leaders and professionals respond to that reality with practical tools and more honest conversations.

Lessell will be joined by Licensed Nutritionist Susan Shub and Licensed Clinical Social Worker Joe Milisitz. Together, they will talk about how constant pressure, quiet stress, and unspoken expectations show up in the body, mood, and day-to-day behavior at work, and what leaders can watch for in themselves and their teams.

“This event is for the people who look like they’re doing fine on the outside but are worn down on the inside,” said Lessell. “A lot of high performers are holding their breath and pushing through. We want to give them language, support, and options so they don’t feel like they have to keep doing it alone.”

Topics will include early signs of burnout, ways to check in with yourself and others, and simple shifts leaders can make to reduce quiet stress rather than add to it. Attendees will also hear about how identity, the story people believe about who they have to be, can affect performance, boundaries, and well‑being at work.

The program coincides with the release of Lessell’s two companion books, Transforming Pain into Power: A Professional Woman’s Guide to Reclaiming Identity and Transforming Pain into Power: A Professional Man’s Guide to Reclaiming Identity. The books are written as guides for professionals who appear successful but feel exhausted, stuck, or disconnected from who they are, and offer exercises and reflections to help them feel more like themselves again.

Lessell is the founder of Inner Power Partners®, a Boca Raton–based community focused on relationship‑driven personal and business growth. She has been recognized as a Top Concierge Coach and Empowered Woman of the Year, and she works with individuals and organizations facing burnout, major transitions, and identity shifts in both life and work.
